A Clinical Psychologist is a mental health professional with highly specialized training in the diagnosis, and psychological treatment of mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders. Typically, this requires a doctoral level degree, specialty training in evidenced-based therapy practices and finally professional competency exams to be licensed.

A Clinical Psychologist can be a helpful resource providing you with insight and skills to optimize your mental health and wellness toolkit. By helping you keep a clear mind and managing stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, and other adjustment problems you may face. A Clinical Psychologist can help you get the most out of life and help you address the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems. You can move forward from suffering to thriving.

You can expect your Clinical Psychologist to help you identify problems- emotional, mental, and behavioral in your life. Through observation, interviews, and tests, the Psychologist will diagnose any existing or potential disorders. Then together with you, develop a therapy treatment plan to meet your needs. The Psychologist then monitors your progress against the goals set for the treatment plan to ensure it meets your needs, and to reassess or adjust the treatment plan if necessary. The therapy chosen is usually based on the Psychologist’s assessment of the evidence-based therapy (i.e., CBT, ACT, EFT etc.) most suitable to the client’s concerns. The therapy may be provided by the Clinical Psychologist or by a highly trained Psychotherapist trained to provide this therapy.

In some cases, such as a Motor Vehicle Accident or other accident event you may be referred to a Clinical Psychologist to determine the impact on your mental health and suitable treatment plan. This may involve providing a Clinical Psychology Assessment and Report to assist integrated services with multidisciplinary professionals involved with your rehabilitation (i.e., family physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, kinesiology). The Clinical Psychologist may also provide assessment reports, treatment plans and progress reports to the Insurance Company and/or to your designated legal counsel. These reports can facilitate Return-To-Work planning and transitions (where applicable).

My approach is client-centred, which means I don’t have a “one size fits all” method of therapy. I have worked with people from all different walks of life. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to talk.

I’ve helped clients in many transitional times in life such as a divorce, loss of a friend or family member, workplace issues, or coping with health problems.

Since 2011 I have been working with individuals suffering from depressed mood, anxiety, grief, addictions, pain, trauma, and relationship issues. I have worked with couples and individuals in therapy.

I obtained my MSc in Clinical Psychology from Acadia University and a BA Hons in Psychology from the University of Guelph. I have been registered as a Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario since 2015. As a Registered Psychotherapist, my services are regulated under the Psychotherapy Act 2007 and by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

As of July 2025 I have entered my supervised practice period to become a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. When I finish this in January 2027, I will be able to provide assessment and diagnostic services in addition to psychotherapy.

In addition to my clinical work, I’ve worked on research in the areas of occupational health and safety and clinical program evaluation. Prior to becoming a clinician, I worked for four years in Human Resources. Each stage of my career has helped me to develop an extensive understanding of workplace and clinical issues.
